“I distinctly remember telling Mosh that we needed a song about how the modern day women was out there making a name for herself in the cutthroat world of the workforce. We need to write a song that supports that woman’s decision to make and create a career, and how her mate, (male or female) will still be treated with passion and compassion, regardless of the long hours of a demanding profession. But also, make the song where she still feels needed at home, cuddled up with her loved one.
I remember emphasizing a commercial of the 80’s for a perfume call Enjoli, where the woman starts out in a business suit, then ends up in a provocative and sheer dress stating she can ‘bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan, and never let you forget you’re a man’.
Hence, our lyrics in the song “You’re there in the city, trying to make ends meet”.
